Frequently Asked Questions

Flag Lighting can be seen from a distance, alerting drivers to the presence of an intersection ahead. This type of lighting can be especially beneficial at intersections with high traffic volumes or those with a history of frequent accidents. MOMA Solar Flag Lights continue to function during power outages, ensuring consistent illumination and safety.

Flag Lighting is beneficial to illuminate intersections, access roads, mine sites, blackspot areas, high traffic/high accident roads, pedestrian crossings, and more.

MOMA Solar Flag Lights operates independently to the electrical grid, making them ideal for remote or rural areas where extending the grid may be costly or impractical. The installation also has minimal impact to existing roads/infrastructure with no trenching required.

MOMA Solar offers detailed lighting designs free of charge that recommend the optimal lighting solution, pole height and optimum distance between poles, and are compliant with Australian standards. Please contact MOMA with a CAD Drawing of the area (if available) and/or the Google Maps location.

Yes, MOMA can supply poles that are approved by local traffic authority, these may include frangible (collapsible) poles if required.

We will request the installation location prior to quoting to ensure the correct pole type and wind region are taken into consideration.

Yes, the complete lighting system can be monitored remotely on a laptop.

There is minimal maintenance required for MOMA Solar’s Flag Lights.

Regular cleaning of the solar panels is recommended, and remote monitoring shows the panels performance over a period of time I.E 3 months to see if there is any drop in daily solar charge performance. Remote monitoring also gives an overview of battery performance and current charge state, LED Light performance, run time and the total power charge per day. This will dictate how often Solar Panels need to be cleaned. Different areas will require different maintenance routines.

Yes, MOMA Solar’s Flag Lights have been engineered to run all night with 4-5 days autonomy, even in poor weather conditions.  The LED is 150W x 13 Hours = 1950Watt/Hours @ 24VDC = 81.25 Amps per night. Total Battery Supply is 480 Amps which equates to 5.9 days total.

Cost is dependent on the specific requirements of an installation and if there is actually electricity available. Pole cost is similar with a concrete base and pole, the LED fixture is the same. There is also the cost of connecting an electrical to the grid, which could include switchboard and other installation costs which are not  required with Solar Flag Lighting.
